Common Question and Answers:

My board has been hacked what should i do? Make sure you and your staff have secure long passwords. Also make sure your email you used to register your forum has a secure password.

Can anybody just go to the support forum and pretend they own my forum? Of course not Ross ask's you for original board, password and other information to make sure its you.

Everything on my forum has been deleted! What do i do? Go to www.vforums.co.uk and click Support tab. Go to the support board and wait for Ross the owner of Vforums to reply. He can restore your boards.

Somebody is threatning to hack my computer and forum! 90% of the time people who say they are going to hack you, are looking for attention and can not really hack. The only way they are going to mess your computer or forum up is if they guess your password or they send you a virus (but you need to download it). Most of the time it's really just a fake threaten just to scare you. Just ignore them.

Make your password unguessable by having numbers, letters, upper case and lower case characters. Don't keep your password as something like Your Username. Chances are the hacker will try that first.

NEVER EVER give out your password. If someone says they will make you a new skin --- Do not trust them! All they will do is hack your forum.

NEVER give out the password to your email account, they can get your password by requesting a password reminder. Also if you are paying for anything like a membership for an online game, they can steal your account on it forever. They might even have some of your credit card numbers.

Always log out of your forum. Especially if you have siblings, or your using a public computer.

If you get a strange email or PM with a link DO NOT open it as it can have a virus. It can either contain a virus or a keylogger.

Don't Create A Password That's Easy For Others To Guess.

Change your password every now and then. Do not leave the same password for 2 years. Chances are you will get hacked.
